fabs (fact-abstraction) - the idea of the site of activity

A group of artists (an association) who may employ various forms, from performance and installation to ephemeral action, going beyond the classifications of art, decided to constitute fabs - a site of action, work and exhibition.

fabs (fact-abstraction or physical abstraction). Fact is something that is known to exist - a thing in itself, abstraction in not identical with the thing in itself. That which happens between fact and abstraction, or between the physical and the abstract, is a field in which we work. We acknowledge that in the most precisely defined axiomatic systems there may appear some true statements that are impossible to prove.

We search for the hidden abilities of the body and the spirit of man. We work to find, to unfold and develop them, as well as seeking possibilities of their coexistence.

In our art we shall also lay bare the mechanisms that make it difficult to differentiate between truth and falsehood and make meaningless any search for the essence of being and of the matter.

Creativeness is one of the fundamental causes of art, together with quality transformations, which are taking place in the artist and in his/her work.

Creative activity is bound with a basic need for expression, which is common to all people, being also one of the most important forms of communication.

We regard work as one of the most significant tasks. Depriving man of his opportunity to work diminishes human dignity, and the dignity of the artist.

fabs, as an exhibition site, presents mostly artists/groups from the field of visual arts, but not only. We wish to go beyond the classifications of art. fabs helps the artists with their work, as well as with an exchange of experiences and ideas.

We recognize that artists should above all represent attitudes of honesty towards the other, towards the society and towards the world. The foundation of art is ethics, without which art cannot exist.

Organization of fabs

fabs is an independent group and an independent place.

Co-operation in fabs is based on good will.

Membership of fabs is open to other professions.

Members of fabs are equally responsible for the place.

All work for fabs is voluntary and based on solidarity and friendship.
