I would like to say something about my plums art. I find it difficult to talk about freedom, because I do not think about freedom. I just experience it, and I feel free just a little when I can. I could not translate the concept of freedom into my art, so I decided that it would be better to let things talk without me. All things can talk about freedom, but because I like fruit, and especially plums, I let plums talk about freedom. So now people can go and see plums talking about freedom. In this work, I was looking for something that did not refer to anything so that, when you looked, you should not know what to think about it. If I had used a bottle, it would have been related to culture. When you live in culture everything has some value or is a symbol; you understand more things and they communicate something. You understand more in your life than in nature. Things in nature have lost their symbolic value; it is things in our culture that have symbolic value. Which is why I decided to take something from nature. Plums may of course have some archaic meaning, but people do not read archaic symbols. And one more thing: when you take plums from an atlas, the symbol has less power than when you use fresh plums.
